That feeling...

When you finish a class in college, its a rather funny experience really. You're like, "I just spent 4 and half months in this class, made a couple friends whose names I couldnt tell you if my life depended on it, and now I am free" It is kind of funny how you learn a lot about people that sit by you in a class, but you dont even know what their name is. Maybe thats my anti-social ability that I never knew I had until my years at Pierce. I am super social, not afraid of people, but it often depends in classes if I will make friends. I have made lots of friends here in Pullman this fall, but most through Cheyenne and my dorm. Not really any in my classes. But I know the people well in my class. Rather funny situation.  Maybe next time I will learn names first and not forget it instantly.

I was originally planning on leaving Pullman on Saturday since one person who was going with us had a final Friday night, but she bailed so now we are probably gonna leave here around noon tomorrow.

Lots of people would freak out and be excited to finish their first semester at a University. But I am not. I spent a lot of time at Pierce College (honestly I wish they offered 4- year degrees there) and when break comes and we get new classes, everyone just went on and prepared for next quarter. I plan to just do the same thing here. The worst grades I ever got at Pierce was the first semester, lets hope I only get better here at WSU from here on out. Was my first semester harder than Pierce? I didn't think so, I took plenty of hard classes at Pierce, but there were less distractions when I lived at home. I had things to keep my head down and to maintain focused. Things like running, and my car, and the yard... I need something like that here. Probably going to try and run again (gotta start training for the 1/2 marathon on March 1st). I so often found a routine that worked back home, here it took me half the semester to find a routine that I liked.

I wouldnt change a thing that I have done here the first semester (maybe done more laundry so it didnt pile up). But I still wouldnt change anything because I learned more than I ever thought I would. About relationships with people, living with people, handling yourself, growing healthy friendships, study techniques, etc.... blah blah it goes on. Still a lot left to do here at WSU. I didnt come to sit back and relax, it can get harder I know, but it can also get easier because of experience.

What to do for break?

Probably going to work. For the father. Which I enjoy, gets me out of bed and outside, both things I like. (The ability to type sarcasm is lost over computers). Get to watch 3 Seahawks games over break. Yippy!! Get to go to Roslyn and play with the family over there. That is what I looking forward to the most.
Minimal posting while break is happening. But I still expect a couple.

This blog was a good idea. No one listens, but I write about my days and thoughts so I dont forget. When I think of the first WSU semester it seems to have gone fast, but if I break it down day by day (and I can because this blog) it seems longer.

I feel kinda sad though, I will sincerely miss Pullman over break. I see why people love it.

Adios,

and Go Cougs

James

Nearly there now

Took both finals in Econ and Chem yesterday. They went fine. Will pass Econ with flying colors. Chem is my down fall in life. But come again I will destroy it.

I have math to do next. At 7 PM. I did super good on my first test in math and not so good on the second. That being said, I have studied the second exam we did more than the first. I hope I do well.

Just made my bed out of boredom. Classy I know.

Goodbye. For maybe the last school related post of the semester.

How to be friends with your friends

While at dinner today Cheyenne looked at Dalton and said something along the lines of "I dont really know anything about you." I thought to myself, 'that's pretty weird' Maybe this is just how life is when you grow up, but you become close to people based off of your experiences together but do not look to far backwards. Backwards- as in what wear you like before you met them. Undoubtedly everyone we meet impacts us in some way, whether we know it or not. And I think most people adjust to their environment and say things to people or act in a way which they might not say and act around other people. SO, unless you have years of friendship under your belt, do you really know a lot about anyone?

So then we googled about 800 things (not kidding, there are 800: http://allysrandomage.blogspot.com/2007/06/101-random-questions.html) to ask a friend.

Simple questions, but important.

Random? yes. But we had to take a break from studying for a little while. yes

I have a couple finals tomorrow. Probably gonna post here after the first one, and after the second.

Gotta go.

Adios.

Finals Week.

Finals Week is here. People fear them. Why? We have to do them so we might as well attack them.
When people are freaking out i'm just like:

Quick recap of the weekend:

Friday night we said goodbye to one of our senior friends as he was graduating on the following Saturday. Good to see people achieve things in life and graduate. On Saturday, Pullman was expected to have some seriously low temperatures. So instead of staying inside and being warm. Max, Chey, Bose, Rachel, her friend and I went downtown and watched some Christmas-y activities. It was very cold. I put hand warmers in my shoes. But that didn't work so I stood there crying inside. Official weather reports show that it dropped to -16 degrees Saturday night. Ouch. We were outside when it was like 3 degrees though so that is good. Sunday was a sad one as the Seahawks lost to the 49ners in San Fransisco. The hawks are now 11-2 on the season. They can clinch the NFC number one seed if they win two of the remaining three games. I expect them to win out.

Studying. Studying. That is all I plan to do and want to do. Eat and study.

I am currently reviewing my math class notes and writing down formulas and doing examples. I have my math final on Thursday night.

Chem and Econ on are Wednesday night.

Just made my bed and took out trash.

Hope this week goes fast and I can go home feeling good.

Typing final papers

When I am typing a paper and I re- read a sentence and it sounds good:

Several thousand words of madness.

Right now Cheyenne is trying to get Dalton to give her a ride with Bose home for Christmas.

Dalton has a small car and only chains and it slides in the rain. So I am scared. Imma force him to go slow...

Goodnight

How to divert energy, in a positive fashion

Well howdy there.
It is a lovely 13 degrees here in the good ol' U.S. of Pullman. If there is one thing that I find to be scarce in college, it would be the number of dogs in this town. I literally have only seen like three this entire year. And now that there is four inches of snow everywhere, I don't expect that number to increase. While surfing the web, I run into so many gifs, many show dogs doing awesome stuff. And I have a large collection of these gifts that make me laugh. So here are a few of my favorite dog ones just because and for free:

This one is appropriately named Dramatic Flashback to hard times at War after catching a treat on the forehead. How can you not smile at this. Well, if you're a WWII veteran then I see your point for not smiling.

Many of you will not understand this. But the newest internet trend is this dog that has no grammar and says funny things about whatever. For example: If one was talking about the weather in Pullman, the dog would say things along the line of:  Pullman wow. many cold. such college. how books read. etc. Here is the space dog.

Whats better than a dog chasing after another dog? oh well, perhaps when a dog jumps out of a moving car and ever-so gracefully does a barrel roll into a giant one. Ah dogs are truly some of the smartest species...

I have posted this before many many posts ago. But it is just so good. Why walk down stairs when that would require energy, just slide down them. Classic.

A husky scared of Julia Roberts. Its quality internet if you ask me.

This is the kicker though. I really should have saved this one for a time when I could relate to it. But whatever I shall find another good one some other time.

Right now I am a couple thousand words into my final paper for Environment Science. If I learned two important things from this class it is that: 1. Research papers aren't that hard and can even be fun. 2. How to spell the word environment. I mean when you say it, you speak it as enviorment. Well... at least I did.

But alas I digress.

Truly.

The time in which I have invested into this post was far too much. Although my paper is not due until Friday at midnight, I have other classes to do work for. That being said, I must go now. I know. The words I type warm your heart.

Amen,

James

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break came and is gone. Back to the daily grind.

Two weeks. One is dead week. One is finals week.

Lets recap the week of break:

Cheyenne and I went to Seattle on Saturday to see our friends who go to school there. We went to some cool stores and got our picture where Macklemore shot his music videos.

Saw a cool 60's era VW toy that was picture worthy. But not $38 worthy.

Then from Sunday to Wednesday I spent my time cleaning out my room and making the garage clean. We are having my room painted and so I had to clear the walls. Which, if you have seen my room as of late, is quite the chore.

Mostly cleaned out. It was primed and white when I left.

Then off to San Francisco!

Here are just some random ones.

San Andrea's fault pic

Now off to Chem and later I have to start writing my final paper for ENV SCI.

Then Seahawks game in a legendary battle against the Saints on MNF.

Bum bum bum bum. (MNF TUNE)

Closing days

Just took my math exam.

I have never been so ready for a chem test. I have that tomorrow.

Im studying with Bose right now. Rachel brought me enchiladas.

I started this blog post over three hours ago. Still studying.

And this is me when Bose and I get a problem correct so we can move on:

An extreme amount of contained happiness.

This is most definitely me when I have a couple of finals staring me down.

Good old gifs.

Bose is giving Dalton love advice right now. This is awesome.

Back to studying.

Thanksgiving Break in 5 Days.....

Well. Nearly 4 days now that Monday is essentially over. But the week wouldnt be complete without a butt-ton of tests to make the week super relaxing and an easy cruise to break. Math on Wednesday. Report for Chem on wed. Chem exam on thursday. Shoot me.

Got a jacket in the mail. Thanks to mi familia!

Right now Im doing my chem report and studying for the exam on Thursday. Tomorrow will be a math day.

Lets do it!

Goodnight, sorry for the relatively uneventful posts as of late.

Looking Back

Lets just look back one day because yesterday had something that was worth mentioning.

Family dinner at Rachels house.

Bernie was there too

We made some form of Chicken pot pies. Like the insides beneath some biscuits. Very good if you ask me. My body became tired of

The Seahawks won their game vs the Vikings are now are the best team in Football.

They are 10-1. To this point, they are the best Seahawks team to ever play, and they are getting better every week. It is prime time to be a Seahawks fan.

That was pretty much my sunday.

From the bed

I post tonight while laying in bed. It was a long day full of tests and quizzes. Thank god tomorrow is Friday. But my god, the kids on this floor are crazy and are being really loud and partying with the RA. Whatever. I lay in the dark room and fall asleep. Hoprfully other RAs will come through and shut it down. People are walking by and all I hear is "I'm so messed up". Doesn't sound to pleasurable to me since there is school tomorrow. But I doubt any of them will go to class anyway.

Goodnight,
James

Late Night. But I do it for the test

I went to my last chem lab today, I enjoyed it. Every week I enjoyed it more and more.

Then I ate some fun food.

Then I got my hair cut by my friend Andrew, who has stylish hair and he styles it and stuff so I was all for it. We did it in the bathroom and people were slowly coming in and out. But then they started to stay, and take pictures and giggle. So I knew it was probably not going to end too well. So he gives me the okay to look at it, and I stand up and look in the mirror. I looked a little like Hitler.
So after much picture taking and lots of laughing, my roommate grabs his hair cutting supplies and pushed Andrew out the way. He is going and going, and then he is like do you want me to cut the top off (because it was longer ontop and short on the sides) and Andrew said he would style it for me. So I thought Brendan did an awesome job, he gave me the cleanest cut and did the edges perfectly low that it feels smooth. He is awesome. And then Andrew styled it up.

Like a good little Norwegian boy:

Now I look like i'm from a boy band. AH the experiences of college.

I have been studying for my ECON test tomorrow since I got out of lab at 3 today. Only breaks were food and haircut.

I dislike economics. Not because the material is boring or irrelevant to my life, but because the words that economists have dedicated to describe certain things that have simpler names do not make sense.

For example:

Nominal- current year without inflation
Aggregate- total
expenditure- an expense

Econ also confuses you with other words that complicate simple ideas, like supply and demand and blah blah blah...

I studied too many hours of it. I would just rant for many sentences and be no where else than where I am now.

SO! On that note,

Goodnight

James

The Beauty of Skype

I like Skype, sans the yelling, the "can you hear me? See me? hello?"

I talked to Bea all the way in Brazil. Listened to Brazilian music in her honor. Had a good conversation, I love good friendships because there is no gap with each other, you pick up directly where you left off.

We went to Walmart and got Andrew a TV for his room, well really, he got himself but we got to watch. How truly exciting I know!!!!

I feel exactly like this when I come back to the dorms after being home for a week. Like this is spot on:

Lol.

Got some labs and good stuff tomorrow. Just doing the pre-lab work for that.

I ate a lot today. Mother would be proud.

Goodnight

L.O.W.

Or Lack of WIFI

It's needed sometimes so one isnt sucked into media and technology all the time.

So we went to Roslyn. Everyone that reads this knows, because they were pretty much all there.

But pictures will be supplied never the less,

Classic Vantage Picture because it is beautiful there:

The classic Copper by the fire picture:

Dalton and Copper

The Brick

Copper being a dog, he tries ya know

Well the three day weekend was relaxing.
I dont know what to say because Zoey is watching me type and I feel pressured to create important sentences, along with Cheyenne now. The pressure is immense. I can feel their eyes staring at the blog. It hurts.

I figure since Dalton will never read this blog, I can disclose this information, he got pulled over again on our way back to Pullman.

He was going 60 in 55. This is what little -town cops do.

I feel bad for the guy. Poor Dalton.

I saw Thor tonight, it was good, Cheyenne paid for me because I am poor. I didnt want to go but she dragged me.

I love movie theaters. One because its just a lot of people paying money to sit in a dark room and look at pictures. Thats #1. Then there is always that one person that laughs super loud and you have second- hand embarrassment for them laughing super hard. Then you have that person that talks only during the times when it is completely quiet. Ah. The joy of the public. and movie theaters.

Goodnight.

A new member of the floor...

Dalton Russel is now my neighbor across the hall. Awesome

Hopefully he can take me to Roslyn this weekend. I wanna go to Roslyn, but dont want to miss out on Pullman.

Whatever.

Wrote my ECON paper now doing the ECON quiz.

Lame post night. Posts are too routine to be worth even posting anything now a days. They are literally just, "went to chem, doing this, doing that"

Why dont I provide the blog with meaningful things. Like thoughts. But then I would need to think about something that I could create an opinion about. But all I do is live in the dorm. I never go out and do anything fun. I never go to events. Am I wasting potentially entertaining and enlightening events that I could be doing (because lets be real, universities always have a lot going on, they are Mecca for quality events) I am gonna try and find something to go to, even if it sucks, I will still learn something.

Zoey is watching me type and apparently, and according to whoever watches me write, I make funny faces when I type. So now I am laughing.

My friend Andrew is listening to One Direction, the little boy pop band. Its funny.

Probably should get back to that econ quiz.

I am in a negative mood.

The snow came. It came big time.

Rachel will read this and smile.

This is Pullman Today

This was Pullman two nights ago.

Thats the stadium by the way. Webcam pic

Anywho.

Its so cold here with the snow and wind, this a good idea of what I feel like here.
Snow & Cold = Bear

The look

That new look up there ^^^^

Yeah. Does not look like much. Should be simple.

But no.

The blogger is very limiting in how you can edit your title image.

That was a long time in re-sizing. Cropping. Making things transparent. Still gonna try to remove the white and make it seamless but I got lazy.

Whatever it happens.

So today I went to chem. Went to moscow for walmart, went to Mcdonalds. Played christmas music.

Waited for snow.

Dalton talked to the R.E.D. and is trying to move in. Looks like its gonna happen. I am stoked.

It is night. Now I sleep.

Got a 90% on my ENVI SCI paper. Thats good,

Then tomorrow, since I am a transfer student who has yet to do my portfolio, I need to go do an on- demand write, but whatever I will kill it.

Go Cougs. I miss the family despite the lack of communication. Phone tag is all to a sad occurrence.

Cant wait for roslyn this weekend.

The Week

The week is ahead. The weekend is behind.

I look ahead and have a writing assignment due in Econ Thursday.

Hawks won their game. It was a heart attack game. They were down 21-0. then 24-24 in OT. Too much to take.

I was just like:

heartattack moment

But on a serious note. It was too much.

Totally off topic but this:

Is beautiful.

Goodnight

Looking forward to the week

That feeling...

Last Night was the game. It was cold. It was Halloween. It was a horrible game if you were a coug fan. Had to leave at half. But oh well...

Hungout with the usual gang and went to several parties. It was Halloween had to go do something.

Went to Chemistry. I have to admit, my love for chem is growing.

Its getting more comprehendable (is that even a word?) as well.
Which is so good.

So yesterday was fun. I went out as Macklemore to the costume parties.

So this weekend is probably going to out of control for most people here in Pullman. But I want to relax and study. Which is unlike me, but I am just loving classes right now.

Tip my hat to the scholars of the world.

Here are some pictures just for fun:

Game time:

Someone put blood all over the bathroom.lol

Its gets low

They temperature is getting lower and lower everyday.

It was 20 degrees when I got to my Env Sci class this morning. Took my quiz, that went well, Then went to my other classes. Hungout with Rachel and Cheyenne and we went to the italian joint downtown.

Truly lovely photos I know. I know.

Had Dalton and some old ER friends over just a bit ago. Getting tired so now I know I have pasted my bed time. Chem in the morning.

Kill it all the way.

I can smell the snow. It coming

What to do when the world knocks you down...

Probably the one of the best monologues of all time.

Watch it this time. Dont skip it. You know who you are.

To turn the music off on my blog. Click the little pause button in the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

Killin it.

Seahawks beat the Rams in a super nail bitter. Went to Chem.

Enironmental Science quiz tomorrow. Going to rock that too.

It is colder than steel in an ice storm over here.

Nicely made bed is calling my name

Car Rides

On my way to Pullman again.

In the car with Dalton and Cheyenne. We are talking and narwhals were brought up.
Dalton dropped this gem "Narwhals- the unicorns of the sea"

It's gonna be a good car ride

Thursday is such a good day

I like Thursdays. Nearly Friday!

Played football with the floor mates. We are 2-0 against everyone we play that are only living in dorms. We dont lose. Our QB is too good.

Ate food. that is key, went to class, that is key

Just a snip of the concert we got.

I look forward to tomorrow. Chem in the morn. Then ENV SCI lab at 11. I have to present a poem to my lab about clean energy. Might as well drop it here:

Renewable energy is out future
But resources are becoming fewer

People try to develop new solutions
The idea that resources will last forever is an illusion

The future is in sustainability.
But environmental collapse could, due to our pro- environmental inactivity.

Wind energy is safe to utilize.
It has no negative environmental effects.
So society needs to take these next steps.

To promote clean and sustainable energy is the goal.
To reduce emissions of dirty things, like coal.

The world is fragile and needs to be cared for,
Clean energy is key to stop this environmental war.

I hate presenting.

Goodnight.

James

Wednesday is too fast

Because I couldnt post yesterday.

Some cool school stuff. Chey went to chem with me. i had a lab. did lots of hw.

Drove to Spokompton.

To see Macklemore:

Twas amazing.

Maybe I will post a video I took of him performing.

The arena actually had a time that the concert was supposed to be done. but macklemore was on his third encore I think and he had to stop and be like "they want us to stop performing""we gotta go"

but then he was like "i'm the boss, out with the system"

and he continued on for much more time.

I fell in love.

More later
