Mi casa

Got home last night. Its very funny to not be home for a long period of time and smell what your house truly smells like. My house smelled like it did when my grandparents lived here when I was young. I kind of miss WSU though. Copper was happy to see me, and so was everyone else.

Hung out with my buddy Colin today. Went to Lake Tapps for I had not been yet this year. That was nice. Went to the Bistro to watch Hannah and my youth leader Jordan do some singing.

Then got ice cream.

I realize now that its the little things that make it "home."

Ah yes. The majority of people who will most likely read my blog will be persons I know. But for those that do not. I love VWs. Surprised I made it this far into my blog without talking about mine. I missed it while I was gone too. It has been through a lot with me and I have lots of time into it.

Good to see my car again. Perhaps I will take it for a spin.

The Motherland

Today I am hitching a ride with sister Rachel and Brendan and Chey back to the west side.
I look forward to seeing mi familia.
I planned an ultimate frisbee game for sunday night in puyallup.
All the way from WSU. Technology people. Technology.
Leaving around 5 PM.

Found this gem:

Life is mostly froth and bubble,
Two things stand like stone,
Kindness in another’s trouble,
Courage in your own.

diz iz good.

The Struggles of Degree Transferring

It is just hard to transfer degrees and to find out what classes must be taken. And it seems like no one in any office or building knows what I need to take for classes. The stress. Got into one of the classes I think I am supposed to take. Poo poo.

Walked around town. Too hot.

Watched Seahawks finish last pre-season game and beat up on the Raiders.

Got into debate with dude from California who is a 49ners fan. Brought up this fact:

Can't argue with that.

Tomorrow is Friday. Gotta buy more books ($$$$$) for my new class. Kill me.

Until then,

James

Hump Day!

'Twas Wednesday today.
Had chem early. Should definetly have not stay up and out so late last night.
Doing the same kinda thing today. Staying up late.
Went to sort out my class schedule issues. No success. Went to open advising. Learned that as a transfer student I am good for my general credits. Thats good. Searched around campus for the professors of the classes I am attempting to get into. No success. Went to the head of the Departments about enrollment. No success. Left voicemails for the professors. Mini success.

I will go to the very top to get what I need to get. Father Jim said he would call the President of the University if it came to it.
At least Father Jim isn't dramatic.

There was an Involvement Fair today. Lots to do on campus right now.
Signing up for an Ultimate Frisbee tournament of Sept 6-7.

Fire drill in Rogers today.
Went to Flix's and waited that out.
Played much video games with the roommate.

Planning on leaving Pullman this weekend for Labor Day Weekend. Going to surprise the family. Which I can totally post this because none of my family knows I have made this blog.

I wonder if I shall ever tell them. Perhaps. They might like to know whats going on.
Seahawks play tomorrow.

Cheers,
James

Football is coming up. I like.

Today is Tuesday. The never ending troubles of my transfer status continues. I have a meeting with an advisor tomorrow. Hopefully that answers questions.

If you havent noticed. I love GIFs. These video- images. They accent my thoughts nicely quite often.

This was my reaction when my math teacher told us our assignment wasnt due this Thursday and is actually due a week from now. Also this goes out to the president of WSU for canceling class on Halloween because ESPN is coming to WSU and that means school is shut down. <WSU's priorities.
Cougar football begins Sat against Auburn.
Seahawks play their last pre-season game against the Raiders.
Season opener next weekend. Yay.

I like this time of year.

Mondays are just Mondays

I am rather impartial when it comes to Mondays. People hate them. But at this point in my life. My body auto-wakes up around 7 anyways. Went to breakfast at southside for the first time today. Felt like this:

I dont think I have been gaining weight here yet though. Nearly impossible for a 5' 10" male who weighs 135 to gain weight with all the hills on this campus. I did find a scale in Goodwill the other day. Still at 135.

Did lots of HW today. CHEM 101 was rather interesting. And the seemly-never- ending environmental science reading continues on. But it is closely tied to geology, so it is very interesting. I am trying to hook up with my advisor soon to plan and map my next couple years here at WSU. Stressful but necessary. Whatever.

Its only 5:45, so it is an early day blog. I sit here in Cheyenne's room eating a Beef Cupped Noodle. Tis delicious. Need to go get food later tonight.

Bose is doing the same thing. HW and cupped noodle.
Cheyenne is off at CREW practice. CREW is the rowing team here at WSU. I think its awesome she is trying something new. I get how exciting that can be. Like my experience with wrestling. New things are good.

Nevertheless,
The day is still young. Even for a school day.

The Weekend came....

and it left just as quickly.

I think pictures tell a better story sometimes:

Le lightening stormy

The eldest three Webber kids in the Palouse!

The lovely girlfriend:

But she got in trouble this weekend:

Just kidding. We got away.

Saw the bears at the Bear Research center:

Sideways but you get the point. My mommy told me my degree came in the mail at home. Hurray! Time to get another one here.

A lovely weave we found on Greek row. How lovely.

OTHER NOTEWORTHY THINGS THAT OCCURRED THIS WEEKEND:

I bought a cool plaid Thermos at Goodwill for 2 bucks.
Watched Step Brothers.
It rained.
The dorm room smells really bad from the milk that spilled almost a week ago. Kill me.

I have tried carpet cleaner.
Baking soda and dish soap.
Frebreze.
Time.
Luck.
Prayer.
Next up is a plug- in smelly thing.

I need to remove the smell.

Week 2 is up next.

Adios Amigos. Watching Puss in Boots.

Week One Complete

Well week one of school is over.

Much has been accomplished. Scheduling mostly.
Hannah and Rachel took me to Sushi and Wally world today. Cruised around Greek Row tonight.
Many people had too much to drink. When they stumble around I just look at them and laugh like:

Well I have plans to get Cheyenne flowers in the morning. Awww yes. The romance. I know. I have to sign up for intramural sports too this weekend. I want to play Frisbee so bad. I miss it.

Falling asleep to Pirates of the Caribbean.

Don't Be That Person

Today was a Thursday. Which is good because tomorrow is Friday!!!!!!!!

Day went well and in my Math class my teacher gave her super fast lecture notes. Then at the end of class someone asked if there was homework and everyone in the class looked at that girl like this:

The weekend is near. I can taste it. Watching Life of Pi with the roomie. We keepin it fresh. Went to cycling class again. Doing it for the free tshirt.

It rained today.

Until tomorrow,

James

Its getting more real

Today was a productive day. Woke up at 9 for my 9:10 Chem class. Made it on time. Didn't shower. Yuck. We began lecture and the prof, whose name I still do not recall, made some fire and cool demonstrations go down. Afterwords I attempted to kick my roommates butt in some NCAA on the Xbox. I hung out with Bose (Cheyenne's roommate) and a friend Zoey. We all went to Walmart and bought Cheyenne a lot of things. I had lunch with the lovely Rachel Webber in the "scenic" Southside dining hall. Went to my Chem lab after which was just more syllabus talk. I did some Homework and some organizing of due dates.

Then Rachel messaged me and asked if I wanted to go to Cycling class. I agreed and went with her, Jordan, Jordan's roommates, Zoey, and Cheyenne.

As soon as I got there and the class started, this ran through my mind:

Afterwards felt good though. And if i work out two more times this week, I get a tshirt. Free tshirts. It's why I go to college.

Went to Flix's, got a milkshake. Which undoes the working out. But oh well. I weigh like 40lbs.
Then walked around campus.

Goodnight. Tomorrow is a busy day.

Old New Kid

I feel like an old new kid. I already have my AA, but I am taking a lot of freshman classes to fulfill my degree requirements. I had Env Sci today, Math, and History. The history class feels like high school and I dont even need it. Environmental Science should be a good class. History and Chem as well. But my math class.... Holy wow. My teacher is nice enough, but she is about 80 years old and can barely walk. The desks are so small at the University. Also, my math teacher spends no time at all explaining any of the math. She just rushed through it and expects no one to ask questions. I looked her up and she has a horrible track record with student. People say "Run, dont walk, Run as fast as you can in another direction."
When she talks I feel just like this:

Anywho, just took a chem online quiz and this bit popped up:

"When doubt exists about established ideas, new ideas become possible."

I like it. Perhaps somewhat applicable to what is happening in the math department of my life. Probably going to hangout tonight and maybe check out Greek Row.

Peace,
James

#1

Well day #1 of college class is over. I only had Chem 101 this morning and that went well. It was the usual syllabus talk. The class had several hundred people in it but in all the faces I did manage to find my friend William, whom I have taken classes with in high school and in community college. It is a small world. I am headed to the cub soon for lunch. Since my roommate and I have been trying to finish Django for the past few nights, here is a blurb I found entertaining.

Until Next time,

Djames

Its the little things

Just made cup a noodle. No silverware in my possession.
Its the little things.

The Price of Higher learning

Well today I just bought myself my first semester's tuition. May I just say holy hell it is expensive to go to college. It isn't getting cheaper either.  All the summer's work and sweat and blood and tears are consumed by WSU. Happens though. The things one does for higher learning. Trying to figure out how to set up my student email right now. Tomorrow class starts and I am excited. Its only Monday so I only have Chemistry at 9AM. I never took Chem before, so it should be fun. Last night, (this morning) I made Pizza in Stephenson South with some of my friends. Drove all the way to Moscow and went to Winco to get it. Made the pizza with no oven-mit or knife or any utensils. The college life.

Going to a full dorm meeting in a few.

Adios,
James

Why blog?

Because as a college student, I am doing lots of new things that should be documented. Journals are outdated and girly. Well, at least a little more girly then blogging. Today marks one week since I have left home and started this adventure known as college. Much has happened and more is coming. So I must document it all. Maybe all the time. Maybe I publish this post and I don't write again for months. Time will tell. Lets do a little filler:

I got my wisdom teeth out two weeks ago. Still have huge holes in my mouth.

Roommate is a very chill brother, perhaps a little too chill for me.

Books for school: Acquired

I have a horrible itch in my right eye. I went to the bookie to get eye drops. But to no avail I still am having issues.

Amount of food I should be eating: More. I am so hungry, I just forget to eat food. Maybe having more food in my dorm will allow me to do that. I need to buy Cup-a-noodle for sure though.

Its Saturday morning and the weekend in Pullman has arrived. I am expecting the upperclassmen to roll into town any moment now.

My face since the Lentil festival is tomorrow.

Cheers,

James
