Sun

Today was 70 plus degrees. It was amazing. It is a shame that I spent half the day inside writing inside because of all the essays that I have. I played catch out in front of Rogers while a lot of people were tanning. It was intense because it was so hot and my body was defiantly not used to it. Once that was over I went to watch Mean Girls with Cheyenne and her friends since it came out ten years ago. Her friends got a huge 42 inch pizza, that is way too much I will have you know. Anyways that was fine. But Chey lost her nose ring so we had to find it, spent 25 mins on that. Now she cant get it back into her nose so that is kinda frustrating for her.

I have only one class tomorrow. It is the last class that I have this semester. I learned a lot this semester, academically of course. But more so as to how to play the game. Here is something I was told that turned out to be false. I was told if I go to talk to professors and connect with them that they would remember my name and have a little grace while grading. Wrong. I learned if I go and talk to professors, they will give me the answers to the essays, exactly what they say I include in my work, and I am killing my classes. I had less distractions this turn, more confidence, more focus. I am excited for summer session.

Summer Session is up next. Where will I live? That is a good question. I am going to crash with Rae for a little until the apartment folks allow me to start my lease about a month early... I have to go to them and beg to let me in more and more, once the current tenants move out. I talked to them, they are moving out the 9th. I am kicked out of the dorms the 10th. Class starts the twelth. The apartment co. needs to be cleaned, but if they take more than two days I am gonna go tell them I will clean the place myself.

Then there are my classes. I need to get books, no problem. Ah. That reminds me, I need to return the ones I have been renting this semester. I need to look and see where the classes are. I think in Todd Hall for one, probably. It seems like every class takes place in Todd.

Still on Chey's computer. Trying to decide if I should replace it and live in fear of more hard drive crashes, or getting another model.

But might as well add some more throw backs since I there are files here I dont have at all:

Football game earlier in the year with the Pullman women

Fatherlord and myself in Montanta

I keep dreaming about this guy. I am gonna try and see if I can get him to come to Pullman this summer.

Well actually today was Tuesday

I thought yesterday was Tuesday. Only to wake up and it is still tuesday, I am dissapointed.

Well nothing that great happened today. Two of my three classes were canceled. I was 500 words into an essay. And my computer's harddrive crashed and failed again. I am so done. That is two in under a month. Three in not even a year. DELL sucks, I am seriously pissed off.

So now I am writing my essay again. I have gotten about 1600 words into it again. All on the Cloud now. Didnt really lose any data because I pulled a lot of pictures and documents off really quick when I rebooted it once, but then it failed about 5 minutes later.

So now here I am. On Cheyenne's laptop. Trying to write my essay on a keyboard which I keep messing up on. Whatever. Better than nothing at all.

Might as well upload something cool from Chey' computer: All throw backs

Tuesday

Alarm went off this morning and I had an email that said class was canceled.

Best feeling ever.

I am now working on my final papers. No tests. Just many many words that are papers.

When I look at the prompts they seem so difficult. I stare mindlessly at them like:

But then I start to type and it isnt so bad... I just start to get hungry after a while and maybe a bit distracted, but I will still keep at it:

And even once I finish all my essays, I will still have a test a couple days later (but online test so it isnt awful):

I must continue on...

Kamiak

I want to be out of the doors now. It is not that I am annoyed with my peers, its just that I want to exist in a solitary state. I am tired of the rowdiness. I am just two weeks away from this mess until I can find peace. I wont miss the random fluctuation in temperature, or the strange smells, or the bathrooms, but there are definitely parts I will miss. The brotherhood mostly. Max noted that our floor is like a Frat House compared to anything else he has seen. Ah yes! Max came over last night from U of Idaho so that today we could go explore Kamiak. Rae, Chey, Max and I all went to Kamiak and hiked for about an hour and a half. We got lost a little bit which might sound funny because Kamiak is the only place with trees in the Palouse. Nevertheless it was a good time and I enjoyed it.

Here at the top looking back onto campus:
Maxwell entering the "Backside Trail"

Random exploring a dirt road on the way back:

After that Rae dropped us off and we got ice cream from Lick's downtown and then went to a Mexican restaurant where I enjoyed them "free chips."
Since then I have been out of luck, just chilling in the dorm trying to learn Hotel California on the guitar. I am about 30 seconds into the intro and it is most definitely the hardest song I have ever attempted on the guitar.
Speaking of guitar, Chey has been trying to learn as well:

How fun, truly.

Other interesting news:

I just got my old friend David's phone number. Ah yes, the one from California. We have been texting for a little bit now just talking about what we have been up to and what our plans are for the future. Its funny how relationships work like that. I also havent really seen Max since the Superbowl happened in February so it is really nice to see him here as well, I like Max because I think he is most like myself, therefore I cannot really ever get mad because I understand what he is doing before I give myself time to be mad at him, I am tired and I should probably go to sleep. Nah

I have been watching a show called "Park's and Recreation" which is really funny and has a ton of great comedians in it. Chey and I have been watching it because the humor is something that both of us enjoy.

Rain Rain Go Away

It has been very rainy here the past week. We were blessed with sun there for a short while. I am pretty much done with all my work at school except my final papers. That is good but also scary. I am not too worried about how the end of the semester will go since my grades have been above par  all semester.

When my teachers ask if we would like to have class next week or if we would like to have class off to do our work:

Is it even a question?

I am sitting in my room trying to debrief  my day. Went to classes. Turned in an essay. I had three classes, all were going great until two minutes into my last class the fire alarm went off and the teacher just had us all go home because it was taking a little bit of time. After my classes were over, I went to a baseball game and we got baseball hats. That was really cool. Aliyah's boyfriend got back from the military and he is living in Pullman. I made pasta with Cheyenne. I added new music to my blog. I plan on watching that 70's Show after I post. I am really tired.

How do we do it?

Today I was really telling myself that I couldnt get out of bed. Then magically I got up, took a shower, and went to class. I was tired after driving back today.

I spent most of my day writing a paper. I talked to the Chief of Police from Puyallup for an interview portion of the research essay. This was for my career research class. This class has been a lot of busy work but I enjoy it because it will boost my GPA and it is a good class. I am now writing a quick little paper of the rights of prisoners in the United States. I am also listening to some Shakira. How festive I know.

Cheyenne is next to me trying to sign up for classes in the fall.

I am planning on going to Kamiak Butte this weekend with Max and Rachel. I miss my ol' friend Max. It will be a good thing to see an old, but fresh, face.

Tomorrow is Tuesday. This is really the last week of classes. Next week is dead week and then its final's week. Time flies.

Tomorrow I am going to cruise by in my classes and begin my papers that are due on Thursday and study for the final quizzes. So exciting I know.

I am kicking this semesters butt.

Home Sweet

Back home for the weekend.

Leaving Pullman!! GO COUGS!!!

Mt. Adams. I am thinking of climbing it as training for Mt. Rainier next summer...

Once I landed in Seattle. I had VIP service and headed to a Switchfoot concert where my sisters had saved us a great spot. That was tons of fun.

Today we went to on a steam train ride and it was a blast!

Here is the train next to a super beetle parked nearby

How artsy. It was very cool to ride in such an old train

Old church in Elbe.

Inside.

After that. I started to clean the garage so I could park my bug inside. After a couple hours it is tucked safely inside next to the MG. Success!

Very tired now. Just bought some new shoes at the mall.

Tomorrow is Easter...

Nat Geo

Well today is well underway. I went to my one class that I have on Wednesdays and continued to learn about lobbying and the government. My teacher took a time out from lecture to let us know that we could ask him any questions about grading or professors, or how they feel when grading. (He likes to analyze people and how they interact and what is everyone's incentives in any given situation) So I asked him, when a teacher is grading, what constitutes the difference in grading between a 90% on a paper versus an 87% on a paper. He gave me more than enough of a response. He sent me a 2000 word response on his grading habits. Have to love the detail he put into it.

I was walking to my building with Cheyenne and we heard a huge noise in the trees across the street and it turned out to be a red tailed hawk hunting a squirrel. We watched it hunt for about an hour overall. People would stop to see what we were looking at and soon enough there was a decent crowd watching the hawk try to kill the squirrel. It is pretty cool to see a hawk move the way it did. Initially, the hawk chased it up the tree until it reached the top and was forced to jump. It is amazing that a squirrel can jump off a 60 foot tree and continue to hide from a hawk. It was a long game of hide and seek. The hawk was literally on a branch right next to the squirrel but the squirrel would move to the other side of the tree as fast as the hawk could jump from branch to branch. The hawk eventually gave up after an hour. It was very interesting to see this up close because usually you only see a hawk way in the sky or on a post, and usually see squirrels running around very fast. I of course had to grab my camera to try and get a good shot of what was going on. The sun made it difficult especially because they were in the shade of the tree. I edited these picture to try and expose the animals.

This is what I mean when I said that the squirrel would move out of the hawk's sight. It would bounce away each time the hawk moved.

The hawk would leave for a couple minutes and swoop in once the squirrel decided to move in the trees.

Perfect example of what I am talking about. The hawk's head it visible to us, but it couldnt see the squirrel. Darwin would be proud of this single squirrel.

The hawk was not as agile and could look at the squirrel but there was often too many branches in the way and it wouldnt be fast enough.

Enough Discovery Channel.

I am doing an essay that is due on Friday, same one I was doing Monday, how is it already Wednesday night???? Are we time traveling right now?

I may experiencing a writer's high. I have been writing since about 5pm straight. Non stop writing. I wrote a decently long response to my teacher's huge email. Now this blog post. Since I am typing in a dark room it may be causing this feeling. It is sort of like a runner's high for those long distance people reading this. I feel my eyes blur up and I cannot really see the screen. I also feel like I am on a boat being rocked gently, but my brain is focus on what I am writing and I can still type well. The computer screen will also get randomly smaller than it normally is.

Maybe I should stop eating Cup-o-Noodles for a little while. Maybe my body cannot function.

Enough distractions from homework.

Back to Normal

Well the week is back. Back to the good ol' routine. Nothing but class until the end of the year. (Even though I am going home this weekend). But besides that I am just going to enjoy the rest of the year. Had breakfast with Mom and chey + mom this morning.

I am currently hiding in the Owen Science Library pumping out an essay about the democratic peace theory. Pretty historically based essay, but he wants us to write about potential uses of the theory in the future of foreign policy. I enjoy this class because his essays are usually interesting to me. I am going to stop by and talk to him this week, which is usually a nice thing because he is an awesome professor. Chey is here writing about charter schools.

Tomorrow I have to present my E- portfolio, which is good because I just want to get it over with because that is all that I really have left in my UCOLL class.

Flying home friday. Dont know what time, should definitely look up exactly when that is. I have however found a flaw in my friday evening plans. Dalton is leaving friday morning for home, so I cant get a ride to the airport with him. Sista will also be gone back to home. So I may just walk. The weather is so nice I dont really mind. Its not even that far anyway.

Well anyways. I should probably get back to the essay and go eat eventually. I leave you with this tid bit of internet:

Shorts

It finally got close to 70 degrees today. Everyone on campus decided that was enough reason to wear shorts. I went to my UCOLL class where we went through part one (of two) of a cultural response thingy. It was sort of interesting. Then I came back to the dorm and watched That 70's Show. Then I went to CRMJ and learning a little about forfeiture that the police practice in society and how they use the money they take. Then that class got out early but I had another class directly after so I swung by the Math Learning Center and said hi to Cheyenne. Then I went to my last class and finished watching a documentary on Rwanda. Then I got food from Southside cafe for the first time since Saturday. I dont know how I am alive. I pretty much have done homework since then.

I am building an "E-portfolio" for my UCOLL class. It is pretty much an online version of a resume. I enjoy building things online, kinda like this blog but less fun. Just gave Dalton a haircut. Then I just finished cutting my own hair. I keep it short enough now that I can cut it by myself. Now I am continuing on the E- portfolio and trying to stay ahead of the million assignments due in the next month. Only 31 days if anyone is wondering and missed that it was 32 days in yesterday's post.

In honor of only eating Taco Bell yesterday:

Distances

Life is just a bunch of distances.
Today is a beautiful sunny day. The sun is the perfect distance away and just close enough to maintain life.
People are always counting down the distances they have until something happens.
The distance until summer arrives.
The distance it is to drive home.
The distance until the graduate.
The distance until summer semester begins.
I think it is in human nature to try and put a distance on everything. So many things are measured in distance. Time is merely distance.
I have 32 calendar days left of school.
I have 23 pages of essays left (yes I counted)
So close.

But why do I really care about how long I have until the next phase of life comes rolling by?

I shouldn't.

I have been watching that 70's Show  alot lately

Dreams

The last several nights I have been dreaming about Volkswagen. Like seriously I have been dreaming about them. Working on them, driving them, looking at them, taking pictures of them. When I wake up I become sad because they go away and I cannot be with them.

I believe they call this stage "withdraws."

This is how you know it's an addiction.

Went to a baseball game with Cheyliyah

That was fun. Then yesterday I played football for a couple hours with some guys. Then I helped clean the towers with Cheyenne. Then we went to our friends techno- party but it wasnt much fun so we went to a latino party. There was so many people and it was tons of fun.

Doing a lot of homework today and just relaxing.

Back

Well my computer is back from the dead and totally restored. Gotta rebuild it now. I have some data that I can put back on.

The week is pretty boring and not much besides class going on. No big post because I am going to start getting my computer alive again
